Just in time for Comic-Con 2019, director Taika Waititi of Thor: Ragnarok fame has agreed to direct the next Thunder movie. Thor: We're on top of things. Chris Hemsworth will return as a wandering Odinson, not always as Thor. Natalie Portman surprised everyone when she announced that she was returning to the series as the new Mighty Thor, a character created by Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, and others for the excellent Thor comic series.
Tessa Thompson is now back, and we assume, that in one of his manifestations, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is back, to mercilessly tease her now unnamed brother, Valkyrie, the King of New Asgard that must find the queen. Christian Bale was born as a potential new cast member in the year 2020, and Marvel confirmed that he would be playing Gorr the God Butcher, the leading antagonist. In February of that year, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, one of Someone's great filmmakers, would have joined Waititi.
In March, Vin Diesel revealed that the Galaxy Guardians will make some kind of appearance, as we've always assumed, but Chris Pratt's addition to the cast, announced in November 2020, confirmed the ride's guards.

Russell Crowe apparently confirmed in April 2021 that he was playing the Olympian god Zeus during a radio call. In June of 2021, he took Instagram to share in costume, to tell us that filming was officially wrapped in Love and Thunder. He took his photographs of himself and Taika Waititi.
